During a lunch with my friends last year, one of them asked everyone at the table “Where do you see yourselves in 10 years?” I happily answered the question and gave her my detailed vision for where I see myself in 2031.
If she’d asked me the question a few years back, my answer would’ve been completely different. I would have given my classic answer “I still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up”. I had no idea what I wanted to do or what my options were. I felt helpless and thought that’s just the way it is…
To be honest, I hadn’t given myself the chance to actually figure out what I really wanted in my career and how I wanted to live my life.
Often we go through life and sort of ‘let it happen’ without having a clear vision and direction of where we are going.
Have you ever asked yourself this question and if so, what’s your answer?
